Atlantic Records hits milestone on digital music sales

Today in the International Herald Tribune (the global version of the New York Times) is an article about how Atlantic has hit the 50/50 mark for physical and digital sales, a landmark that analysts didn’t excpect the music industry to reach before 2011.

“Atlantic, a unit of Warner Music Group, says it has reached a milestone that no other major record label has hit: More than half of its music sales in the United States are now from digital products, like downloads on iTunes and ring tones for cellphones.”
