USA Networks delivers Blue Skies

Watching the new season of White Collar (don’t judge me) last night brought up a memory of a great LA Times article, from a few years ago, about the rebirth of USA Networks. Since 2004, USA has been using what they call the Blue Skies filter focusing on light, brand friendly programming with great locations, attractive people and classic premises. The article talks about rebuilding an entire network around a few simple principals and bringing a channel that was once known for reruns of shows into the 21st century. A great read for anyone interested in branding, content creation or trying to establish (or reestablish) a voice.
