Fanbase Mobile and the Fanbase Connected Album

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Today Atlantic Records launched two important strategic projects for one of our most popular solo artists, Rob Thomas. Fanbase Mobile (for the iPhone) is a framework we have created, in conjunction with amazing development team at Gskinner.com, that is going to allow us to roll out flexible, scalable iPhone applications for all Atlantic artists.

Check out the demo video recorded by Rob Thomas.

Download the free application from iTunes here or view the press release.

In addition to this exciting mobile launch we also shipped our first Fanbase Connected Album. Fans who purchase Rob Thomas’ new album will be prompted to install his Fanbase Desktop application directly from the CD and will be delivered bonus content specific to purchasers of Rob’s album. Connecting Fans with Bands

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

I was invited by Adobe to talk at their 2008 Max designer/developer conference as part of a new track of sessions geared towards business and strategy. My presentation was entitled “Connecting Fans with Bands” and is now available on Adobe TV. The video has the audio from the presentation overlaid on top of my Powerpoint slides. The presentation discussed all the ways we are using Adobe technology to promote our artists and bring them closer to their fans than has ever been possible before. I talk specifically about our multi-screen Fanbase platform, games, and our strategy for artist’s websites.

Fanbase Print Press

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Our new AIR application, Fanbase Desktop has been getting some really solid press online for a while now, but I wanted to highlight a few offline mentions that have been popping up lately.

I was interviewed for Billboard Magazine about the app.

Adobe put out a promotional print piece about Rich Internet Applications and we were one of the featured applications.

And right after the application launched I saw the Reuters article displayed in the cab on my way home from the airport. I thought it was hilarious and snapped a picture with my iPhone.
