Fanbase Print Press

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Our new AIR application, Fanbase Desktop has been getting some really solid press online for a while now, but I wanted to highlight a few offline mentions that have been popping up lately.

I was interviewed for Billboard Magazine about the app.

Adobe put out a promotional print piece about Rich Internet Applications and we were one of the featured applications.

And right after the application launched I saw the Reuters article displayed in the cab on my way home from the airport. I thought it was hilarious and snapped a picture with my iPhone.

Fanbase Desktop Launches, gets picked up by Billboard Magazine

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Atlantic Records launched Fanbase Desktop Monday working closely with Adobe and Gskinner.com. I was responsible the strategy, information architecture and visual design for the multi-band Adobe AIR application. The purpose of Fanbase is two fold; to bring content about an artist from many sources into one application, and for fans to have a place to communicate with other fans about that content. It integates with best of breed services like iMeem, Meebo, Brightcove, YouTube, Flickr, and Yahoo! Pipes together to create a new content rich music experience. And with runtime switching of skins, it allows users to add multiple artist packs into one application on their desktop.

Fanbase is an important part of Atlantic’s overall digital strategy, allowing fans to access their favorite artist’s content anywhere. Integrating with our content rich artist websites, social networking widgets, physical products and mobile experiences it gives fans what they want anytime, anywhere.

The app has been receiving amazing press. Fanbase has been mentioned in Billboard magazine, Newyorktimes.com, WashingtonPost.com, ReadWriteWeb, Yahoo! News and tons of other places. This was a project I drove from beginning to end and really believed in so I’m so glad people are responding positively. And most importantly, the fans love it!
