About
About Me
I specialize in interactive design (for any screen large or small) but am equally comfortable pushing pixels in Photoshop or Illustrator, or writing code in Flash or Coldfusion. I've designed for TVs (DVD, broadcast and Flash enabled sets), print, mobile (Flash Lite, iPhone, Android and Blackberry) and excel in bringing thoughtful and usable interfaces to new devices. I'm a web designer, a product developer, a teacher, a programmer and can occasionally be found covered in paint in my studio.
About this Site
This site is a hybrid - a little like me. It's hosted by Hostek.com, the only hosting company I would ever think of using, and is on Windows server running both Coldfusion and PHP. The site is content managed by "Creative Control" a Coldfusion based CMS I designed and developed myself specifically to aid in the building of websites for visual artists. The blog portion of this website is powered by Wordpress which has caused me to see more ?'s and $'s than I ever thought possible. The commenting engine is JS-Kit (both on the Wordpress and non-Wordpress portions of the site) and the sharing features are powered by Sharethis. The site is built using XHTML, CSS and is standards compliant, accessible and gets along well with search engines. All the XHTML was written in Textmate, the CSS in the Web Developer Plugin for Firefox and was uploaded using Transmit.

Quotes
Eric is exactly what the music industry needs; an intelligent, forward thinking innovator. He possess the perfect blend of technical skill, product vision and creative passion to change the game. His ability to listen AND understand an alternate perspective is truly a rarity at the often solipsistic major label level. Eric is the reason other New Media teams are now following Atlantic in 2008. I will work with Eric for years to come.
Ryan Troy
Director, Business Development, imeem
Eric's title, Creative Director, doesn't do him justice because he is far more than just creative! Eric Snowden has the eye of an artist and the technical hand of an engineer. Robert Rodriguez once said when, "If you're creative and technical, you're unstoppable." That is exactly what Eric is.
Stephanie Frasco
Content Coordinator, Atlantic Records
I have worked with Eric on various projects. While working with him I've found him to be very dedicated to his work. He is driven in equal measure by both quality and efficiency. I have great admiration of his work ethics and have learned a great deal from him as well.
Melissa Trevino
Business Analyst, Warner Music Group
Eric is a phenomenal designer and a very knowledgeable web person as well. We have relied on his talents for many years with great success.
Scott Kern
Director Digital Properties, Warner Music Group
Eric is extremely talented in the areas of flash design and development. Eric's wealth of knowledge on both the technology and creative side of business is rare and makes him a prime candidate for any project that needs a visionary to spearhead. Eric pushes the limits of everyone around him and always produces results that meet or exceed criteria.
Rick Bashkoff
Digital Video Account Manager, WEA/Warner Music Group
Eric is an extremely talented Art Director. He was dedicated and could always be relied upon to deliver quality designs on strategy and on schedule. Eric was an invaluable team member and was a pleasure to work with
Sonja Marikovics
Account Supervisor, CDMiConnect
Talented, creative, intelligent, easy to work with and meticulous are just a few adjectives I'd use to describe Eric Snowden. I've worked with many great designers in the past, and what makes Eric stand out is his consistent concern for the user and deep understanding of how Web technology works. His ability to code puts him in a special class of his own. I could not recommend Eric heartily enough as he's demonstrated his ability to lead large, complex projects and do it with both finesse and skill.
Geraldine Chung
Director of Production, Atlantic Records
Eric is a great web designer and design team leader. He very effectively managed a design team and helped them produce great work, while simultaneously working on design projects of his own. He is an excellent Flash designer who thinks like (and works really well with) developers. I highly recommend Eric for independent and collaborative projects.
Katherine Wells
Director Digital Properties, Warner Music Group
Eric took the Digital Properties department at WMG to the next level in terms of creative design and branding. The number of requests grew dramatically and people came to us for the most cutting edge design technologies which Eric always delivered. We were cutting egde not bleeding edge and Eric always knew what was right for the business and the visitor experience. I would work with him again in a heartbeat.
Karen Stavisky
Sr Director New Media, Warner Music Group
Eric is a fantastic creative mind. Left brained and right brained. Concepts, designs and codes brilliantly. Lets put it this way: if the world ends tomorrow unless I can find 1 person to design/build the perfect Web site, Eric's the one I call.
